The main way we collect personal information from you is if you provide your resume as part of an agreed employment candidacy. This personal information may include your full name, date of birth, phone and fax numbers, e-mail address, and street and postal address, and details of referees and work history. If you do not provide full details of relevant facts or required personal information, we may not be able to help you in your job search.
We will only record your e-mail address if you send us an email message containing your email address or supply your email address as part of your contact details on an on-line application. It will not be automatically added to a mailing list.
If we enable collection of personal information via our web site, we will do so only with your consent as you must click on a button provided on each web page to submit information to our web site.
If you provide us with personal information about another person, for example a referee or referal, you must tell that person of the disclosure, the purpose of the disclosure, and how we will use their information.
Use and disclosure of information to third parties
We will only use your personal information (including your resume and contact details) for the purpose for which you have provided it, for example for a current job application, or to keep you informed of future relevant work opportunities.
If you provide us with your resume with respect to a specific job opportunity, we will retain your resume for future reference unless you ask us to remove it, but we will only provide your resume to other prospective employers with your prior consent in each case. We will not provide your personal contact details or email address to any other party without your prior consent.
Should you wish to exclude your resume from subsequent The BAG candidate opportunity searches, please notify The BAG and we will do so as soon as practical. We will only provide your information to a prospective employer in a form that identifies you with your prior consent.
We will not use personal information for any other purpose, nor will we disclose it, unless with your consent or in other circumstances where such use or disclosure is permitted under the Privacy Act.
From time to time, we may wish to carry out a voluntary survey for feedback. Before collecting survey results, we will advise you of the purpose of the survey. We will provide the facility to enable you to exit the survey at any time.
Access to and alteration of records containing personal information
The BAG allows individuals to access and alter records containing their personal information.
The BAG encourages you to update your resume and replace your out of date resume as relevant information changes. Should you wish to access your information or discover what information is held about you at any time, the BAG will provide either a copy of the information or a summary of the information held. The BAG may charge a reasonable fee for providing access to information in some cases.
When you provide information to us via the internet, we rely on the accuracy of that information.
Information storage and security
Personal information is securely stored and will be retained for as long as required to fulfil our recruitment functions, unless you advise us that you wish to have your records deleted, subject to our need to retain records for audit purposes and meet other statutory or quality management obligations.
